As dental technology continues to improve and evolve, Ricard Family Dentistry is happy to advance as well. In our practice, we use the latest techniques and technology to provide a more calm, convenient, and stress-free experience.
Digital X-rays are far beyond what traditional X-rays used to be. One of the major upsides is that they emit up to 80 percent less radiation, plus they are so much faster. After taking your images, we can look at the results immediately, speeding up the time you have to spend in the office. Digital X-rays also allow us to enhance the images so that we get a better idea of how to best treat you.
Sometimes, even digital X-rays are not enough to get a true sense of what needs to be done with your oral health. That’s when we’ll opt to use dental cone beam computed tomography, or CBCT 3D imaging. A CBCT scan allows us to create a full 3D image of your oral region, including your nerves, tissues, and entire dental structure.
Common uses of CBCT 3D imaging are assisting with treatments for impacted teeth, dental implants, and temporomandibular joint disorder, or TMJ. It is also often used to plan orthodontic treatment.
Laser gum therapy is a great way to treat mild and even severe gum disease. It is a safe and effective method that involves reducing the periodontal pocket size and gum inflammation with diode lasers.
Both the damaged tissue and bacteria are removed, and since there are no scalpels, your gums heal faster with minimal pain and discomfort.
Dealing with oral health is a series matter, so you’ll want to see a dentist who is serious about providing you with updated dental technology. If you want to know more or if you want to schedule an appointment, give us a call.
