A chip in your tooth or a tiny gap between your two front teeth will not significantly affect your oral health, but it will negatively impact your self-esteem. These dental issues may seem trivial, but they can greatly affect how you feel about yourself. However, you don’t have to live in misery because of an imperfect smile. Two popular cosmetic dental procedures for chips and tooth gaps are veneers in Fort Pierce and dental bonding.

Porcelain Veneers vs. Dental Bonding

Understanding Porcelain Veneers and Dental Bonding

Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain placed on top of your teeth. The shape, size, and shade are customizable, so they can blend perfectly with the rest of your existing teeth to give you a natural look.

It can be used for a variety of reasons, such as covering a cracked or broken tooth, closing tiny tooth gaps, and concealing tooth discoloration. Meanwhile, dental bonding consists of resin directly applied over your teeth. When it hardens, it will be polished and shaped to give you a smile you want.

Differences Between Veneers and Bonding

Since veneers are made from porcelain, it’s understandable that they’d be pricier compared to bonding. However, despite their price, you’ll get your money’s worth as they last between 10 and 25 years. Composite bonding only lasts between 3 to 10 years.

Both bonding and veneers are designed and shaped to mimic the color and shape of your surrounding teeth, but veneers have an advantage since they are resistant to stains. On the other hand, Bonding resin will darken and stain over time.
