Are Braces Better Than Invisalign ®?
When it comes to correcting teeth misalignment, you’ll be asked to decide between two options – braces in Fort Pierce and Invisalign®. Although both are effective in fixing crooked teeth, they have their differences. So, before you decide on a treatment option, make sure you’ve done your research.
During your consultation with your orthodontist, ask as many questions as possible until you are satisfied. Learning about the pros and cons of each treatment can also help you decide which option is best for you.
Braces vs. Invisalign
Pros and Cons of Invisalign
Compared to braces, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, owing to their clear design. The treatment is also more comfortable because the aligners are smooth, so they don’t rub against the inner cheeks of your mouth. They are also easy to clean, and you can eat anything you want since they are removable.
The downside to wearing Invisalign is the treatment period can get delayed if you don’t wear your aligners as recommended by your orthodontist. Case in point, if you forget to bring them when you’re out of the house or you simply forgot to take them out of your bag after cleaning them.
When you break or lose your trays, you’ll need to pay extra to make them again. Unfortunately, Invisalign is also not ideal for patients with severe cases.
Pros and Cons of Braces
Braces are ideal for all types of orthodontic issues ranging from mild to severe cases. This form of orthodontic treatment is not recommended if you are into contact sports. They can also be uncomfortable to wear due to their design.
The rough brackets can cause soreness inside your mouth. But don’t worry. Over time, you will get used to the feeling.
